…movies in the middle of the day (& on monday.) it was rainy yesterday so we decided to go see a matinee. we decided on UP and it was so delightful. i even enjoyed seeing it in 3-d. we really wanted to see away we go, but it’s not in theaters here yet…darn mid-west. but soon enough i’m sure.

What is it about babies and animals that I find so damn funny? Well, to tell the truth, I usually hate things like American’s Funniest Home Videos. I just get annoyed. But this morning as I sat on the couch sipping my tea watching CNN I found myself making an unfamiliar morning noise: laughing. Cracking up actually. They did a story on this blog. This is why I love the internet.

A very dear friend is coming over tonight and I’m so excited to give her the gift I made her. It’s just another Amy Butler apron, but I know that she will love it. She is the best person to give gifts to because she is always crazy excited and appreciative. We have a little project for the night and it’s a bit ambitious. We are making her a Roman Shade for her bathroom. She picked out the cutest fabric. I don’t know why she thinks I will be able to help her; I just know I will ruin her fabric. We’ll see what sort of hail-mary will hit the fence…
My friend Katie had this one her blog; I think the answer suits her perfectly. I’m not quite so sure about my “analysis”. But check it out for something fun. Christy, I know you will.
What is says about you: You are a deep thinking person. You appreciate cities, technology, and other great things people have created. You feel closer to people when you understand their imperfections. Friends count on you for being honest and insightful.
I saw this clever idea over at Apartment Therapy. But I would recommend shaving when wearing a tie.
Whether you’re a sports fan or not, this girl is awesome! I love how smooth she is! Her athletic prowess is beyond her years.
With Spring arriving, I feel like trying new things and like I can accomplish anything…like maybe not killing plants. Let’s face it, I can’t keep a plant alive to save my own skin. This is such a source of shame (not guilt!), especially since most in my family have more than just a green thumb, but a whole army of vert like phalanges.
However, with this new little gizmo I bet I could sustain plant life past a week. And it’s so cute to boot! But the hubby and I have put an immediate moratorium on non-essential spending. (We’re going to see how much money we could actually save in a month if we didn’t eat out all the time. I’m sure I’ll have more to say about this as the month progresses.) Until then, these little guys will just have to sit on my computer desktop (it’s probably safer for them anyway!)
One of my favorite daily reads is Swissmiss. Yesterday she posted this cute little number that can be found at modern seed.

I knew exactly where I had seen something similar. I walk to work past a dress shop every day and this very spring skirt has me ready for tulips and birds chirping…or ducks quacking.

How much do I love NPR?! I love that each night at 8pm (when I’m usually driving home) I get to hear “The Story”. It’s probably my favorite program on NPR. I love hearing about people that I would have normally never even known existed. I love that it reminds me that we are all human and each unique individuals. One of my recent favorites is on Jan 31, 2008. It is about a recovering addict who is a peer counselor in San Francisco. I loved listening to his voice and how comfortable he seemed with himself. Check it out. (Don’t worry they’re not all that intense!)
