stumbled across this little charm on etsy and i think it needs to make its way to my home….

my sister-in-law and i share july birthdays and so tonight we went to dinner and celebrated getting older wiser. and i was really pleased with the necklace i created for her. she was too.

I saw these necklaces at urban outfitters and throughout blog-land and then ran across this great tutorial. And although the jury was out for a while, I’m in and I think my friend will be able to pull it off fabulously. I like it as an alternative to a scarf. I think I’ve got a green t-shirt that wants to be a necklace too.

I made this back in January for my sis. I just finally last week managed to walk across the street to the post office to put it in the mail! I picked up the beads in Beijing. It was hard to decide with so many options. But I just got confirmation that she really liked her new accessory. (And so do I!)

tomorrow is my friend Amy’s birthday. I’ve been jonesing to make some jewelry again and this was the perfect opportunity. I’ve had these beads for a while but I hadn’t thought about using them together until now. I’m totally into long necklaces right now, and this one hits just below the bust line. And I really like the wooden beads with iridescent green ones. The southerner in me couldn’t resist making the matching earrings. (I am definitely my mother’s daughter.) I can see her wearing this with a bold floral or subdued solid. I hope she likes it!

*****Well she loved it…and then I found this little number that I thought would go perfectly!
I really, really want some Joel Dewberry fabric, particularly from his Avery Collection. I especially like the woodgrain print. It reminds me of a jewelry set I made my friend Meg. But alas, want is not need and since I crafted so much over the holiday I’ve taken a bit of a break. But I’m already making a list of spring projects.
